Functions of CNC

In order to give full play to the potential of computers, the functions of modern CNC systems are far from just completing basic linear and arc interpolation calculations, but are equipped with many special software that can complete various tasks, some of which are impossible or difficult to complete with traditional NC. The main functions of modern CNC systems are described below.

What is CNC?

1) Coordinate axis control can control 3, 4 and 5 coordinate axes simultaneously. High cutting speed and machining quality can be achieved.

(2) Tool offset compensation modern CNC systems often have the function of tool radius compensation for three-dimensional space straight lines.

(3)The programming function system provides some programming functions. Generally, the processing program of plane profile parts composed of straight lines and arcs can be manually programmed by using the color graphic display terminal of the system. The system is equipped with software to automatically calculate the intersection and tangent points of the profile.

(4)Tor can complete the above manual programming with the keyboard at the same time, or input the external program or edit and modify the existing program through the data transmission interface. When the machine tool is machining, the graphic display terminal can simulate the execution of another machining program at the same time for inspection and editing.

  • (5)The feed speed control performance of the high and low speed feed control system for the moving parts of the machine tool is an important performance index of the CNC system. The modern numerical control system can control the cutting motion of the machine tool with a relatively high feed rate in a very short distance. This is very advantageous for surface machining, which can greatly shorten the machining time, especially for the transition region with large curvature change, and still obtain good machining quality.

(7)dimensional measuring contacts (similar to meThe electronic contact alignment system provides threeasuring probes), which is very convenient to align the workpiece.

(8)Physical measurement and automatic generation of processing program: the above-mentioned three-dimensional electric probe can be used to scan and measure the physical object (sample to be copied). The system automatically collects measurement point data. The distance between points is related to the scanning speed. The scanning point data automatically generates a linear interpolation NC program through the interface, and this program can be executed without any post-processing.
